In this presentation after a brief introduction describing the basic physics of the GaN heterostructure, a short overview of the GaN technology will be presented, followed by a demonstration of the great capabilities of the devices developed in the different research labs. Then, the main focus of the presentation will be dedicated to the parasitic and reliability issues present in the available GaN devices including the ESD sensitivity.
