This paper describes the computation of the seismic risk map for the residential building stock in Italy. The maps is computed by taking into account the seismogenic model for Italy and national buildings vulnerability is described by a proper taxonomy of eight structural typologies. Seismic risks maps are computed for two different conditions, the former represents the so-called as-built condition, the latter one is computed assuming for the residential building stock a possible strategic retrofit program. These two maps are then adopted for assessing the financial sustainability of possible national seismic risk reduction programs.

Abstract
