The paper aims at reading UNESCO’s Report Reimagining our futures together: a new social contract for education within the war situation that hit the Ukrainian population in February 2022. UNESCO’s docu- ment represents a precious opportunity to reflect, on the one hand, on how to guarantee the right to education for refugee children and, on the other hand, on the commitment and the collective responsibility towards the co-construction of futures, starting from the tragic social and political configuration that the conflict imposes. Some useful at- tentions are presented to ensure the reception and educational care of refugee children, in compliance with the International Convention on the Rights of the Child. Those attentions can be useful for guiding the actions of administrations, services and associations involved in this important task.
