In the present study, the effect of acetylsalicylic (ASA) and salicylic (SA) acid on in vitro propagation of Kosteletzkya pentacarpos was studied. Nodal explants were excised from in vitro grown plantlets and cultured on solid (8 g L-1 agar), Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium, containing 30 g L-1 sucrose supplemented with ASA or SA at 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.5 mg L-1. To assess the in vitro response, analyses of plant pigments, i.e., chlorophyll (Chl) a, b, total (a+b), and carotenoids were performed. For the extraction of the pigments, 0.5 g of in vitro-grown micro-shoots were homogenized in 80% acetone in the dark and analysed spectrophotometrically. The percentage of shoot regeneration was high (92-100%) on both the control medium (MS medium + 30 g L-1) and media supplemented with 0.01, 0.05, and 0.1 mg L-1 ASA or SA. When ASA or SA were supplemented at 0.5 mg L-1, the percentage of shoot regeneration drastically dropped. For all the treatments, only one shoot per explant was recorded....

Abstract
For all the treatments, only one shoot per explant was recorded....Pubblicazioni consigliate
