This article examines the perceptions of the main representatives of the educational community on the use of digital platforms in educational environments, focusing on privacy and data protection issues. A qualitative methodology with an ethnographic approach was adopted to analyze six specific cases in different educational institutions in Catalonia, including primary and secondary schools. Data collection involved interviews and discussion groups with management teams, teachers and students. From an inductive approach to the speech, it is observed that all the actors involved demonstrated a common awareness of the importance of privacy and data protection in the digital age. However, the differences are evident in the way in which each group. The article concludes that it is necessary to to study this problem further to build an alternative and equitable digital ecosystem that avoid exposing people, and especially, students.
