A Study of the Grammacographical Textual Genre Across Time

In this paper, we discuss the problem of the representation of the grammaticographical textual genre across time. The choice to deal with this topic derives from the observation that there are no truly comprehensive studies on this subject, but only analyses of the work of individual authors who, although certainly useful, lack in defining a true common framework of this peculiar textual genre. We focus the attention of our research on Spanish grammars for Italian speakers published between the XVI and XIX centuries. We analyze the research challenges of a methodology to process these types of texts and the requirements of the database that will store both the textual information in the documents and the linguistic hypotheses of the researcher that study those texts.
