The article explores fragility of rural territories of the Italian inner areas and their regenerative potential. In particular, a reconceptualization of rural heritage as territorial capital is proposed, investigating it in all its dimensions and proposing an interpretative framework within which read- ing its regenerative potential. Heritage is assumed as a reservoir of resources, in this case underutilized, which can be useful material to fuel an antifragile project for territorial systems. To undertake this investigation, a crit- ical approach is applied to a transdisciplinary bibliograph- ic study. The paper ends with some reasoning on open scenarios and possibilities.
