During the research for a doctorate in education sciences it was necessary to develop a strategy of didactic design and practice for the use of augmented and mixed reality mobile technologies for heritage education in non-formal learning contexts, such as educational visits to cultural sites. For this purpose, we have developed the Tri-AR method, which is based on the second generation of the activity theory. The study involved seven fifth primary school classes in Italy and two in England for a total of 194 pupils aged between nine and eleven. The experimentation took place in Verona, during visits to the Roman Verona, and Hestercombe, England, during visits to the historic landscape garden

Abstract
During the research for a doctorate in education sciences it was necessary to develop a strategy of didactic design and practice for the use of augmented and mixed reality mobile technologies for heritage education in non-formal learning contexts, such as educational visits to cultural sites. The study involved seven fifth primary school classes in Italy and two in England for a total of 194 pupils aged between nine and eleven.
