In this chapter we compare the software industry of three European countries – Italy, Spain and Germany – applying and further developing the three fundamental dimensions of a business model, i.e. strategy, finance and organization. Our aim is to detect a structural profile of this industry in countries with a different model of capitalism – ‘Central European’ versus ‘Southern European’ – and to study the characteristics of the business model of the Southern countries, Italy and Spain, known for their strong institutional inertia.

Abstract
In this chapter we compare the software industry of three European countries – Italy, Spain and Germany – applying and further developing the three fundamental dimensions of a business model, i.e. strategy, finance and organization. Our aim is to detect a structural profile of this industry in countries with a different model of capitalism – ‘Central European’ versus ‘Southern European’ – and to study the characteristics of the business model of the Southern countries, Italy and Spain, known for their strong institutional inertia.File in questo prodotto:
