In a smart grid scenario, electrical networks are bound to evolve towards an internet-like model, where every node is connected each other, responsive to any signal, flexible and price-smart. A novel power management system should also ensure the customer participation in services for the grid support on the basis of network signals. The proposed methodology is a “token ring” internet-like procedure for power management in MV electrical networks, which allows each customer to freely operate the required network regulation replying to a power-price signal. Interactivity in a multi-level multi-area structure is fundamental to co-ordinate efficiently the regulation operation among different distributed resources. In this paper, the “token ring” management system is presented and its applicability is demonstrated on a case study electrical network.

Abstract
In a smart grid scenario, electrical networks are bound to evolve towards an internet-like model, where every node is connected each other, responsive to any signal, flexible and price-smart. A novel power management system should also ensure the customer participation in services for the grid support on the basis of network signals. The proposed methodology is a “token ring” internet-like procedure for power management in MV electrical networks, which allows each customer to freely operate the required network regulation replying to a power-price signal. Interactivity in a multi-level multi-area structure is fundamental to co-ordinate efficiently the regulation operation among different distributed resources. In this paper, the “token ring” management system is presented and its applicability is demonstrated on a case study electrical network.Pubblicazioni consigliate
