The family has an essential role in the treatment and integration of children with disability. Parents’ involvement in planning and realizing interventions is of fundamental importance not only in increasing the effectiveness of interventions, but also in improving the parents’ own quality of life. This chapter examines the construction of the quality of life in the farnilies of individuals with disabiìity and the role that parents have to be admitted to in planning treatment for their children. Two tools will be introduced that can be used by experts in counselling the parents of children with disability.
