Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD) shows a broad host range within captive psittacine populations. Since clinical findings of PBFD in parrots often differ on the basis of the species and the age of infected psittacines, it has been speculated that a species-specificity of PBFDV strains may exists. The phylogenetic analysis of 9 BBFDV strains isolated in Italy from October 2010 to February 2011 showed some degree of genetic variability related to the infected species and clinical signs.

Abstract
Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD) shows a broad host range within captive psittacine populations. Since clinical findings of PBFD in parrots often differ on the basis of the species and the age of infected psittacines, it has been speculated that a species-specificity of PBFDV strains may exists. The phylogenetic analysis of 9 BBFDV strains isolated in Italy from October 2010 to February 2011 showed some degree of genetic variability related to the infected species and clinical signs.File in questo prodotto:
