The Logoi (Orations) of Nicetas Choniates are preserved in a single manuscript, Marc. gr. XI, 22, and are cited by only one Byzantine author, Theoktistus Studites, the hagiographer of Athanasius I, Patriarch of Constantinople (1289–1293, 1304–1309). In this article, I examine three letters recently published by D. Nikou, which may be attributed to Theoktistos Studites himself: certainly letter 2, probably letter 3, and possibly letter 1. Letter 2 bears the name of the sender (‘by Theoktistos’) and contains quotations from Nicetas Choniates' Or. 3, 18 and 9, reused in the same manner as Theoktistus Studites employs them in his hagiographical works. One section of the article is devoted to illustrating, through a limited number of examples, the intertextuality and intratextuality found in the hagiographical works of Theoktistos Studite.

Abstract
One section of the article is devoted to illustrating, through a limited number of examples, the intertextuality and intratextuality found in the hagiographical works of Theoktistos Studite.Pubblicazioni consigliate
