The paper presents the results of a research project focused on the analysis of the architectural and artistic culture of the Cassinese Benedictine Congregation between the 15th and 18th centuries. The central objective is to verify the historiographical hypothesis of a shared design and artistic culture, fostered by the reform of the Rule of Saint Benedict and the regulations imposed by the General Chapters. The proposed methodology is based on an interdisciplinary approach that integrates Building Information Modeling (BIM) with the semantic encoding of texts (TEI) through a coordinated digital infrastructure. The system is built upon three pillars: a relational database (RDB), BIM information models derived from laser scanning and photogrammetric surveys, and TEI transcriptions of documentary sources. Integration is achieved through the implementation of controlled dictionaries and IFC standards for the semantization of historical architectural elements, while a model inspired by CIDOC-CRM allows for the structuring of archival data as networks of relationships between people, places, and construction processes. Interoperability, guaranteed by REST and GraphQL APIs, enables the system to be queried to address complex questions, such as the analysis of construction site density or the role of patrons in abbatial transformations. The results demonstrate how the creation of a Single Source of Information (SSoI) fosters new perspectives for comparative investigation, making data navigable and processable for the fields of art and architectural history.
