This Guest Editorial introduces the Special Issue on Advanced Design and Control of High-Speed Motors. High-speed electric machines and their drives are enabling key applications including electrified transportation, aerospace, turbocompressors, and high-power-density industrial systems, while imposing stringent constraints on electromagnetic performance, rotor mechanical integrity, thermal management, and converter-control co-design. Following the review process, 33 papers were selected for publication. Highlights of each paper and their main contributions are discussed.
