Abstract

The thematic section stems from a collaboration between the VII National Conference on Legal Psychology, held at the University of Padua from 19 to 21 June 2025, and the Italian Journal of Psychology, with the aim of ensuring the scientific dissemination of selected contributions presented at the Conference. Taken together, the articles included in this thematic section reflect the plurality of approaches, methods, and applied domains that currently characterize legal psychology, highlighting its role as a bridge between empirical research, theoretical reflection, and professional practice. The volume is intended as a tool for scholarly updating and critical reflection for researchers and professionals working within the justice system, contributing to the strengthening of a culture of evaluation grounded in solid scientific evidence and in structured interdisciplinary dialogue. The overarching goal is to promote a scientifically informed dialogue among disciplines such as psychology, psychiatry, forensic medicine, and law, which, despite differing epistemological and methodological frameworks, share the responsibility of contributing to judicial decision-making processes in both civil and criminal contexts.
