Migração, terceirização e trabalho escravo contemporâneo: o sindicalismo do Adl-Cobas no combate ao caporalato no caso da Grafica Veneta

This work is the result of an investigation into the participation of the ADL-Cobas trade union in preventing and combating the practice of Caporalato in Italy, a phenomenon correlated/similar to contemporary slave labor in Brazil, with special attention to the case of Grafica Veneta, the largest company in the sector in Europe. The case took place in Trebaseleghe, in the province of Padua, and attracted the attention of the Italian media because it involved Pakistani workers who were found with signs of violent mistreatment on roads close to the company’s headquarters. We can identify that the investment in prevention and combat policies carried out in the context established by the Three-Year Plan is different from the model adopted in Brazil in that the unions play a leading role in welcoming, advising and reintegrating workers freed from slavery into the labor market.
