After offering an up-to-date biography of the famous copyist and forger Andreas Darmarios, this essay analyses three cases of forgery by means of pseudoepigraphical titles and text interpolation. Thanks to some recent studies and a survey on archival documents, Darmarios’ biography is enriched by more details, especially about the date of his first arrival in Italy and his possible death in Spain. On the other hand, strategies and motives of the forger dealing with exegetical literature were highlighted through the three cases listed here. In the last one, on a little known « Commentary on the Song of Songs », we provided more evidence about its alleged attribution to Neophytos Enkleistos.
