The chapter explores the philosophy of restorative justice and examines its ongoing conceptual vagueness as a limit for its theoretical and practical development. In order to further specify the conceptual framework of a restorative approach to justice, the chapter focusses on the element of 'reparation', analyzing its philosophical justification through the approach of some italian legal philosophers, e.g. Giorgio Del Vecchio and Francesco Cavalla.
