Today, people with disabilities can rely on a wide range of technological aids that facilitate daily management, promote independence, and ultimately improve their quality of life. IoT systems that enable an inclusive control of lights, temperature, and appliances optimize living conditions and contribute to enhancing the perception of autonomy. The present paper reports on a focus group conducted with seven users with disabilities who regularly attend a smart house. Our findings revealed a generally positive attitude towards smart home technologies. Still, some challenges in the interaction were also identified. Notably, a willingness to preserve their residual autonomy emerged strongly.
