This contribution focuses on the two-wheeled chariots depicted on nine figured funerarystelae from pre-Roman Padua, shown in scenes of the deceased’s journey to the Afterlife or in a martial context. Supported by a reasoned selection of comparisons, the iconographic analysis aims to relate chariots and harnesses to other elements of the representation, offering a comprehensive reading of the scenes and establishing a typology of the two-wheeled vehicles depicted on these monuments. The objective is to assess the role of these chariots as expressions of cultural identity or as indicators of contact and hybridization processes over the broad chronological span they cover (5th-1st century BCE).
