The paper presents a collection of plasters marked with Latin graffiti, found in a building near the forum of Nora (Sardinia, Roman Imperial Age). The analysis explores the reconstruction of the paintings of two rooms, then considers the engraved areas of the walls in order to reflect on the palimpsest: from the preparatory plots engraved on the plaster to the subsequent alterations of the painted wall, which became a “blackboard” on which to record accounts, names and more simply “divertissements”, without respect for the artistic work.

Abstract
The paper presents a collection of plasters marked with Latin graffiti, found in a building near the forum of Nora (Sardinia, Roman Imperial Age). The analysis explores the reconstruction of the paintings of two rooms, then considers the engraved areas of the walls in order to reflect on the palimpsest: from the preparatory plots engraved on the plaster to the subsequent alterations of the painted wall, which became a “blackboard” on which to record accounts, names and more simply “divertissements”, without respect for the artistic work.File in questo prodotto:
