This study investigates the identity of the so-called Anonymus χ-λ Harlfinger, a scribe previously linked to the Constantinopolitan phase of Cardinal Bessarion’s early life. By integrating archival documentation with palaeographic and codicological analysis, the research successfully identifies the anonymous hand and associates it with a corpus of Greek manuscripts. The findings contribute to a broader understanding of the textual transmission of Aristotelian works in the Byzantine and Renaissance periods and provide new insights into the scholarly milieu surrounding Bessarion. The study also underscores the significance of scribal identification in reconstructing the intellectual and cultural networks of the late Byzantine and early Renaissance worlds.

Abstract
This study investigates the identity of the so-called Anonymus χ-λ Harlfinger, a scribe previously linked to the Constantinopolitan phase of Cardinal Bessarion’s early life. By integrating archival documentation with palaeographic and codicological analysis, the research successfully identifies the anonymous hand and associates it with a corpus of Greek manuscripts. The findings contribute to a broader understanding of the textual transmission of Aristotelian works in the Byzantine and Renaissance periods and provide new insights into the scholarly milieu surrounding Bessarion. The study also underscores the significance of scribal identification in reconstructing the intellectual and cultural networks of the late Byzantine and early Renaissance worlds.Pubblicazioni consigliate
