Abstract

The increasing trend of electrification for traction applications poses new challenges in the field of fault diagnostics. In fact, most past studies have focused on machines designed for industrial applications, where the operating conditions and requirements are significantly different. This work presents an overview of the most studied fault diagnosis approaches in recent years, also offering initial insights into those approaches that could be more suitable for traction applications, along with some areas that require further research.
