Hot stamping of metal sheets is increasingly employed to manufacture parts characterized by a high ratio between the strength and the weight especially in the transportation sector. Variants of the conventional direct hot stamping process applied to 22MnB5 boron steel sheets as well as new generations of advanced high strength metal sheets have been recently introduced to further exploit the advantages offered by sheet forming operations carried out at elevated temperature and overcome some limitations of the conventional approach. The present chapter aims at providing a comprehensive literature survey of the most recent developments of the hot stamping process applied to high strength-to-weight metal alloys.

Abstract
Hot stamping of metal sheets is increasingly employed to manufacture parts characterized by a high ratio between the strength and the weight especially in the transportation sector. Variants of the conventional direct hot stamping process applied to 22MnB5 boron steel sheets as well as new generations of advanced high strength metal sheets have been recently introduced to further exploit the advantages offered by sheet forming operations carried out at elevated temperature and overcome some limitations of the conventional approach. The present chapter aims at providing a comprehensive literature survey of the most recent developments of the hot stamping process applied to high strength-to-weight metal alloys.Pubblicazioni consigliate
