The new executive, led by Giorgia Meloni, has submitted to Parliament a draft bill to change the Italian form of government, allowing citizens to directly elect the prime minister. This reform proposal also introduces a fifty-five percent electoral prize for the coalition supporting the elected prime minister and reduces the head of state’s margin of discretion in appointing the prime minister. Abstract
