Abstract
The complex bond between Venice and its hinterland had expressed a clear supremacy of the “centre” for centuries. Since the end of the 19th century this situation has been progressively reversed. The fascination of modernity made the profound urban changes which involved the area between Marghera and Mestre less dramatic, so the new industrial elements became interesting for the venetian artist Giovanni Giuliani. Could we compare his industrial landscapes with a classical “veduta” by Canaletto?File in questo prodotto:
