Abstract
A new word (or rather an acronym) has entered the vocabulary of science: CRISPR. We will live in an increasingly “crisprified” world. As of February 2018, there is also the first specialised scientific journal: The CRISPR Journal. The acronym describing the latest generation of gene editing—i.e. the proofreading of the genome by means of a molecular scissor—is becoming an adjective, verb and noun, which sanctions its importance. Having deciphered its structure and logic in the last century, having learnt to read it in the last decades, we are now beginning to rewrite DNA, with the result that we will soon be living surrounded by edited plants, animals and humans.Pubblicazioni consigliate
