The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Milestones Program honors significant scientific and technical achievements in all areas associated with IEEE. They can regard products, services, papers, or patents. Such achievements must have occurred at least twenty-five years before a Milestone proposal is presented. As of 2023, IEEE has approved more than 240 Milestones worldwide which track the evolution of the electrical and related technologies, creating a path through the evolution of electrical and electronic engineering. Italy ranks among the top five nations with its nine Milestones, which are presented here
