This paper discusses, by means of an experimental investigation, the behavior of a floating breakwater composed by two vertically aligned cylinders of diameter 2.5 m, rigidly connected at different distances, and a case with three vertically aligned cylinders, i.e. with an extra 1.5 m pipe placed between two larger ones. The experiments are described in detail, and the results are presented in terms of attenuation capacity, movements, and mooring loads. The attenuation curve provided indicates a very low value in a range of periods around 4 seconds.

Abstract
This paper discusses, by means of an experimental investigation, the behavior of a floating breakwater composed by two vertically aligned cylinders of diameter 2.5 m, rigidly connected at different distances, and a case with three vertically aligned cylinders, i.e. with an extra 1.5 m pipe placed between two larger ones. The experiments are described in detail, and the results are presented in terms of attenuation capacity, movements, and mooring loads. The attenuation curve provided indicates a very low value in a range of periods around 4 seconds.File in questo prodotto:
