The contribution aims to analyze the relationship between visual arts and Alzheimer’s disease. While starting from the fundamental contribution made by the MoMA in developing the Meet Me at MoMA project, whose widespread adoption and positive results have also piqued interest in the healthcare sector, this paper intends to examine how artistic work interacts with this specific user group. From field research to participatory art, the projects Alzheimer Cafè by Valentina Vetturi and Arrivederci Amore Ciao by Marina Arienzale are considered as case studies. Faced with the stigma still present in the world confined by dementia, the work of these artists enables the community to connect with the creative spirit of these individuals, initiating a process of communication and enhancement. Abstract

Moreover, in some cases, the work of the artists can have long-term effects in the daily lives of those involved.
