Large wood in river channels has received increasing attention in recent years, due to its importance in riverine ecosystems as well as in river morphology and sediment dynamics. Measuring large wood can be challenging, but with advances in remote sensing technologies, moreover in UAV imagery and photogrammetry precise measurements can be assessed. This study shows the results of a survey made for a ~3 km long channel reach of the Ohau river in New Zealand.

Abstract
