The refrigeration industry in the 1920s became a fundamental moment for Italy both for the industrial development of the country and for the development of modern national technologies and materials. The paper analyses the refrigerated plants built in La Spezia, Udine, Parma, Naples, as well as the large complex of the Magazzini Generali in Verona, which represent the steps in the development of the Italian agrifood industry. Within about ten years, unprecedented buildings, structural and constructive types were developed, which in turn contributed to the technological progress of insulating materials, which found wide use in residential buildings starting from the 1930s.

Abstract
The refrigeration industry in the 1920s became a fundamental moment for Italy both for the industrial development of the country and for the development of modern national technologies and materials. The paper analyses the refrigerated plants built in La Spezia, Udine, Parma, Naples, as well as the large complex of the Magazzini Generali in Verona, which represent the steps in the development of the Italian agrifood industry. Within about ten years, unprecedented buildings, structural and constructive types were developed, which in turn contributed to the technological progress of insulating materials, which found wide use in residential buildings starting from the 1930s.Pubblicazioni consigliate
