Abstract

The Planetary Fourier Spectrometer (PFS) for the Mars Express mission for carrying out atmospheric studies is discussed. PFS is expected to provide unique data on the surface-atmosphere interaction and the mineralogical composition of the surface. PFS combines many kinds of electrical energy consumers which includes standard digital and analogue electronics, sensitive preamplifiers and ADCs, light sources and electromechanical devices. After each data-acquisition cycle, PFS checks the new received telecommands and executes them.
