The process of artificialization of the waterways in Padua and the predominant cultural approach in the post World War II fostered the abandonment of the canals by the local community, causing a progressive deterioration of the canals. To recover the city’s waterways, two projects with a socio-ecological, multifunctional and sustainable perspective have been launched. The aim is to experiment an innovative management, based on regular monitoring and care of the canals.

Abstract
