Understanding the peculiar way in which the Greek-Etruscan banquet modalities were adopted in Iron age Veneto’s communities has always been a challenging task. The aim of this contribution is thus to analyze the plate-buckle from grave 48 of Carceri’s necropolis to better understand how ancient Veneti declined the allochthonous ritual to fit their costumes. Starting from a critical history of the finding, the paper will then focus on the artifact. A brief typological classification and iconographic analysis will lead to the examination of all the elements present within the scene: human beings, furniture, pottery. Comparisons will be presented with the aim of identifying the cultural environments that had the greatest influence on the elaboration of this exceptional iconographic scheme. The reconstruction of the relations between the single components of the representation will finally allow some considerations to be made both on the identity choices made by the ancient Veneti towards an allochthonous ritual, and on their relations with the Greek-Etruscan world.

Abstract
The reconstruction of the relations between the single components of the representation will finally allow some considerations to be made both on the identity choices made by the ancient Veneti towards an allochthonous ritual, and on their relations with the Greek-Etruscan world.Pubblicazioni consigliate
