X-ray computed tomography (CT) has proven to be a powerful tool for providing feedback to manufacturing techniques such as additive manufacturing. This experiment demonstrates the correlation between position and temperature factors in an LPBF process with dimensional deviations and porosity. Thanks to the capabilities of CT, manufacturers can have an intuition about the distribution of deviations and internal defects in the powder bed.

Abstract

X-ray computed tomography (CT) has proven to be a powerful tool for providing feedback to manufacturing techniques such as additive manufacturing.
