The controversial homage of Cuban artist Tania Bruguera (1968) to her compatriot Ana Mendieta (1948-85) is a particular case of reenactment. In fact, by reenacting the works of Mendieta, Bruguera wishes to re-establish a link between the past and the present of Cuban art, but on the other hand, due to the particular ways in which it is conducted, ends up forcing the very limits and possibilities of reenactment.
