It is proposed and argued that comitia curiata could be coeval with the birth of the City. Many are, in fact, the clues that would attest to the archaic nature of this popular assembly: the rite of adrogatio, which took place in front of the curiae still in imperial age, bears showy traces of its archaic nature and, consequently, of the same assembly. It more likely that the comitia curiata approved the proposals presented to them by the king and the pope and did not limit themselves to taking note of some of their decisions. On the other hand, the archaelogical investigation, in the area of the Comitium, has discovered remains of a floor dating back to the 8th century B.C. It is not to be excluded that the comitia curiata, whose high dating is sustainable with good foundation, met here.
