Per un’interpretazione della Scienza nuova come genealogia di un’etica civile della cura

TOWARDS AN INTERPRETATION OF THE NEW SCIENCE AS THE GENEALOGY OF A CIVIL ETHIC OF CARE. The paper aims to reread the process of civilization presented in Vico’s New Science from a perspective of the ethics of care, with specific reference to its structure and political implications, as they have been outlined by Joan Tronto. This interpretation presents the moral aspects characterizing humanity in terms of a genealogy of care, draws attention to the paradoxical nature of divine care and highlights the features of mutual implication among the cognitive, emotional, communicative-expressive, practical and political facets of care, which take place in the first forms of civil institutions.
