The article aims to provide the genetic edition of Pasolini’s translations of two Carmina Burana (62 and 69), kept in some typewritten sheets in the Pier Paolo Pasolini collection of the “Alessandro Bonsanti” Contemporary Archive, Gabinetto G. P. Vieusseux of Florence. The commentary on the edition aims, first of all, to identify similarities and differences between these texts and the other translations of Greek and Latin classics composed by Pasolini, as well as to underline how they contribute to a better understanding of the relationship between the author and the medieval period. After a brief introduction on the only two Carmina Burana that the author has translated, Pasolini’s versions are analyzed in detail, so as to highlight their main characteristics: on the one hand, the desire to reproduce the metric and rhetorical elements of the original text; on the other, the tendency to innovate the lexicon and, consequently, the content of the poems, making them a place of free expression for the translator.

Abstract
The article aims to provide the genetic edition of Pasolini’s translations of two Carmina Burana (62 and 69), kept in some typewritten sheets in the Pier Paolo Pasolini collection of the “Alessandro Bonsanti” Contemporary Archive, Gabinetto G. P. Vieusseux of Florence. The commentary on the edition aims, first of all, to identify similarities and differences between these texts and the other translations of Greek and Latin classics composed by Pasolini, as well as to underline how they contribute to a better understanding of the relationship between the author and the medieval period. After a brief introduction on the only two Carmina Burana that the author has translated, Pasolini’s versions are analyzed in detail, so as to highlight their main characteristics: on the one hand, the desire to reproduce the metric and rhetorical elements of the original text; on the other, the tendency to innovate the lexicon and, consequently, the content of the poems, making them a place of free expression for the translator.Pubblicazioni consigliate
