The essay starts from a recent decision of the Belgian Cassation, to inve stigate the issue of judicially imposed apologies. If in some jurisdictions, espe cially civil law, the topic is almost unknown, in the perspective of comparative law it offers a remarkable series of ideas and applications. Having examined the hypothesis of the relief in kind of non pecuniary damages, as a possible reference in the italian jurisdiction, the limits of a mandatory injunction and the advantages of a more elastic modulation of the remedy are highlighted.
