The Romance multilingual area covers a territory located in the Italian region of Puglia, today called “Monti Dauni” (i.e. the Daunian Mountains). In this territory there are two villages, Faeto and Celle di San Vito, where a linguistic variety that belongs to the Franco-Provençal domain is spoken. Among the various studies carried out on this variety, none adopt a lexico-grammatical approach. We intend to fill this gap by examining Faeto Franco-Provençal using the Lexicon-Grammar method. Specifically, we apply the method to the description of some of the set phrases of Faeto Franco-Provençal, taken from the first lexicographic work dedicated to it, namely the Dizionario Francoprovenzale-Italiano, Italiano-Francoprovenzale di Faeto published in 2007 by the “Sportello Linguistico Francoprovenzale” (i.e. the Franco-Provençal Language Office). The results of our analysis constitute the first lexico-grammatical contribution concerning a variety covered by the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. Also, these results are another step in the construction of the Compared Lexicon-Grammar of Romance Languages.
