Full-Maxwell lightning strike analyses are generally computationally expensive since they require time domain simulations of complex structures in a semi-infinite vertically layered background. In this paper it is shown how Model Order Reduction can be applied to Integral Equation methods to effectively speed up such analyses. Moreover, the layered Green's function theory is applied to consider the presence of the semi-infinite layered ground region without introducing approximations or facing prohibitive modeling issues.

Abstract
