This review has a twofold aim: firstly, to highlight the role of prosodic skills on the linguistic and socio-pragmatic development: secondly, to clarify the impact of attentional deficits on these processes. To this end, studies investigating the presence of difficulties in prosodic skills in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are firstly reported. Then, contrasting results on the presence of a dysfunctional prosodic perception are discussed through a systematic review investigating the possible relationship between attention and prosodic perception in children with ASD, in complex linguistic contexts.

Abstract
This review has a twofold aim: firstly, to highlight the role of prosodic skills on the linguistic and socio-pragmatic development: secondly, to clarify the impact of attentional deficits on these processes. To this end, studies investigating the presence of difficulties in prosodic skills in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are firstly reported. Then, contrasting results on the presence of a dysfunctional prosodic perception are discussed through a systematic review investigating the possible relationship between attention and prosodic perception in children with ASD, in complex linguistic contexts.File in questo prodotto:
