Abstract

Searching for as yet undetected γ-ray sources is a major target of the Fermi LAT Collaboration. In this paper, we explore the capability of a filtering method based on robust mixtures of von Mises–Fisher distributions with the additional inclusion of concomitant variables. The proposed procedure is illustrated on data drawn from a Fermi LAT catalogue of detected sources.
