Quale turismo nel nostro futuro prossimo venturo?

Considerations on tourism after two years of the pandemic must take into account two particularly significant new aspects: first, the pandemic (or better its political, economic and social, as well as psychological and cultural consequences) has already changed travellers’ habits and behaviour, as well as the ways that travel and hospitality are organized and chosen; the second aspect regards the rise of new forms of tourism, which offer new exciting experiences, unusual outdoor activities, diverse and alternative destinations. Everything concurs to spark processes of change, both in the cities in which tourism is more occasional and in territories that have lagged behind the more popular tourist routes but are now welcoming new visitor flows. The challenge lies in innovative policies for tourism becoming more sustainable and achieving a new balance for the social and economic development of traditional destinations as well as the new destinations, where local growth should not be entrusted exclusively to this field.
