The purpose of this research is to perform the laboratories activities to support the Dawn mission. During a first phase was performed the calibration of the imaging spectrometer of such mission, VIR-MS (Visual and InfraRed Mapping Spectrometer), and of some of its sub-systems. In a second phase, was assembled and calibrated the DM (Development Model) of VIR-MS, a spectrometer to be used in laboratory to perform, both tests on the functionalities of the sub-systems of the spectrometer in flight and spectral measurements of mineral samples. At the end, measurements of an eucrite sample and their interpretation are presented.
