This work is placed inside a large project of research, that intends to reconstruct in a systematic way the liturgical-musical tradition used in the Church of Ravenna between the XI-XII century. In the latest years the so-called “Ravenna notation” has been discovered and analyzed. From the ‘Ravenna notation” this study moves, because it has been the main way to identify the liturgical-musical sources to attribute to the Ravenna area. Sixty-eight sources in Ravenna-notation have been collected: among them thirty-one for the Mass liturgy and thirty-four for Office liturgy. In order to make the collected information available and to begin the study and the analysis of the repertories: - a descriptive form has been drown up for each of the identified sources; - the list of chants in each source related to the Mass in XII century, in which the relations between Ravenna source and reference repertories are indicated. The following studies are included in the preliminary chapters: - the history of the Church of Ravenna in order to point out the way in which liturgical tradition was formed; - specific aspects of calendar and liturgy emerged from the sources; - characteristics of Ravenna notation; - characteristics of decoration of the sources.

The following studies are included in the preliminary chapters: - the history of the Church of Ravenna in order to point out the way in which liturgical tradition was formed; - specific aspects of calendar and liturgy emerged from the sources; - characteristics of Ravenna notation; - characteristics of decoration of the sources.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
