In the frame of the remote space mission on Mercury planet called BepiColombo, the advanced space optics payloads must be protected against solar radiation. On Mercury the solar flux is 11 times more intensive in respect to the Earth. Thus a new device must be designet to face the thermal problem. The Thesis runs on the aspects of the space mission analysing space data such as solar intensity, solar wind, solar pressure, X rays, Gamma rays, microimpacts of micrometeorids and so on. A new apprach to solve the design of a sun shield is performed. The concept desing has been used to guide the engineering solution purposed. The design presented is original ad innovative in respect to the state of the art. The sun shield introduced might be implemented fos several space mission operatin into a so critical space environment.
